Flower Fairies Sock Club!

Yes! A new sock club to begin in Feb, 2010! Shipments in the middle of Feb, March, and April! YarnYenta and I have joined forces to bring you enchanting fairy socks. She'll do the designs and I'll do the dyeing.

The particulars:

3 months: Feb, March, April (middle of the month, as usual).
3 brand new sock patterns designed by a YarnYenta, who is a wonderful sock designer.
3 charming new colorways dyed my me.

Yarns? I have a lot to choose from and have not decided yet, but you know that they are all lovely because I wouldn't knit on them if they were not.

Cost? $90 for everybody, USA, Canada, UK, and any other place possible. US shipments will mail out as Priority Mail, the UK and other places across the Pond will be sent as First Class International, Canada will also ship as First Class International. So, no extra charges for the basic package because you are not in the States.

Payment is done all at once, and not pay-as-you-go. I'll need payment by the end of January to make sure that I have enough to dye up the yarn.

Extra goodies?
Nope. I don't like them, and don't send them, and anyhow, if it costs me to send them, then I have to add that cost to the club. We are a no-frills club, but we are sending you what counts: wonderful yarns and patterns!

Sign up: Any time from this blog and Etsy posting will follow next week. My routine here is for you to email me and then I invoice you. Etsy is self-explanatory.

Payment is done all at once, and not pay-as-you-go. I'll need payment by the end of January to make sure that I have enough time to dye up the yarn.

Wicked Women Sock and Scarf Club!

Sign-ups end on August 10. I need some advance time to do the dyeing.

Here's the scoop:

Wicked Women Sock and Scarf Club

Moody, dangerous colors!
Diabolical patterns! Mwahahahaha!

3 alternate months of yarns & patterns.

What: Evil yarns and/or patterns. two sock ones designed by 2 devious, wicked designers: Hunter and YarnYenta, and a scarf designed by me.

When: Mid-Sept, mid-Nov, mid-Jan. 2 with enough time to do a bit of holiday knitting, and one for when we can all breathe again.

Cost:
$90, which includes Priority Mail shipping to the US, first-class international shipping to Canada, and first class international to Europe and beyond.

What you will receive:
yarn, of course, pattern either hard copy or emailed PDF, if you prefer. No goodies, surprises, stitch markers, candy, tea, no nothing but the essential goodness of my yarn and our patterns. I don't do elegant fancy wrapping or enclose extras because I don't care about them, and I want this to be easy on your pocketbook. You pay for extras, so I don't include them. Wicked me.

Why do you want to do this? How can you resist the call of Wicked Women?

How to sign up: email me directly at:

fritzL234 AT yahoo DOT com

I'll ask for your address and paypal account number and will invoice you. If you need me to wait until mid-late August to invoice, that's fine. I just need to know who is interested so that I can do my planning, yarn ordering, etc. etc.

Thanks of course.

With an evil laugh, Mwahahahaha,

ruth the Transylvania Terror. or something like that.

Brand New Sock Club!

Ta Da!

A brand new sock club for you and yours: The Colors of PennyRose Sock Club!

3 shipments: mid-Jan, mid-March, mid-May.

3 different dyeing techniques, each one different and with your color input.

2 older patterns, just put in so that you have a neat way of making your socks with these dyeing techniques, and one brand new one!

Yarn: Whatever works best for each method. At least one yarn in Penny, my base yarn, because I skein it up into long skeins and therefore can play around a lot with it.

Total cost (including shipping): $85 to the US for Priority Shipping, and to everywhere else for first class international shipping with the patterns emailed to you in PDF form. Shipping out of the country goes by weight, so this will save you the extra shipping cost.

The Perfect Holiday Present! Your relatives owe you some pretty yarn. Sounds good, no?

Each one of my skeins is dyed individually so each one is one of a kind! Some are very labor intensive but are fun for me to do. Here's an example of a Rainbow yarn. I start with the color that you pick and then go from there. 5 people could all pick blue, but each skein would look completely different. Here's a Rainbow Blue that I'm currently selling on Etsy. You can see my starting point.

Here's what it looks like reskeined into a manageable skein of yarn:

Isn't this fun? That's an example of a dyeing technique that I love to use.

Here's another technique that I might use: Gloom and Glam updated for a different look:

This is the top of a sock for the Oct. sotm and you can see the bits of color that pop out of the charcoal base. An updated version of this would be to choose a dark base of either charcoal, navy, brown or green and then highlight with other colors. It makes a very cool yarn.

Other possible techniques are: half & half (where one half of the skein is dyed one color, and the other another color with a bit of white in between: makes for cute stripes), and a new secret technique.

If you want an idea of how I dye, look at my etsy site and also look at the yarns sold.

Interested? Please email me at pennyrosesockclub @yahoo.com, or PM me on Ravelry. I'm ruth there.
